Boo came into foster care terrified of everything. He was afraid of the car, going into a house, the collar, the leash, the floors, loud noises, quick movements and anyone touching his head. He didn’t respond to commands or even his name. Once he realized that well-intentioned touch could be an enjoyable thing, he began to seek out affection. Once he realized that a collar, leash, and a car ride led to adventure, he was all in. He's still cautious about some things, but he has made huge strides in his confidence. 

Since being with his fosters he has mastered (most) of the floors in the house, will sit politely for treats, dinner time, and getting his outdoor gear on, and has started to play with toys. He has gone for walks on leash and off. When he is especially proud of himself or just enjoying the freedom to run and play, he wiggles his whole body so hard he can hardly keep upright! It is so heart warming to watch.

He is quiet, gentle, rarely barks, and loves the reassurance of affection.  He has been interested and friendly when meeting people of all ages and other dogs. He is fully house trained.

Boo will need to continue working on his leash walking and recall. This is all new to him, but he improves daily.

He would do best in a household that is not too busy, and although he is good with children, living with very young children will likely be too stressful for him.  He will also require a secure fenced yard.

The adoption fee for Boo is $400. He has been vaccinated, micro chipped and neutered. If you are interested in adopting Boo, please click the link above to reach the application form. KAAP adoptions include a reference check and home visit to ensure our dogs are going to the very best homes. Due to this, we will be accepting applications from the West Kootenay region only. We reserve the right to select, in our view, the applicant that is the best match; not first come/first served. Completed applications are required to meet Boo in his foster home.
