Did you know that KAAP does not receive any government funding? Our services are funded by your generous donations, as well as grants from foundations and communities. KAAP is 100% volunteer, with many thousands of hours donated to the care of the animals. You can make a private donation by visiting the KAAP page at CanadaHelps.org (and receive an official tax receipt online), through our PayPal account (and receive a tax receipt by mail), or by mailing a cheque to KAAP at 3423 Renwick Rd., Nelson, BC V1L 6X7. Adopt

Giving a homeless pet a forever home is one of the most rewarding things you can do. KAAP has a listing of cats and dogs that are currently in our foster homes; our web site also lists cats and dogs that are available through “Private Adoption” by their owners. To adopt a KAAP pet you must complete our application and contract, and pay an adoption fee: all KAAP pets are spayed/neutered, and most are tattooed, and vaccinated.  We assist you in finding the best pet for your home, and you can always ask for help with your pet in the future. Foster

This is one of the most valuable and rewarding ways to help homeless pets on their journey to find their forever homes. KAAP will assist in helping you decide what type of pet is best for your home. KAAP provides supplies and assistance in making your pet comfortable and ready to be adopted. As the foster parent, you will be able to assist in introducing your pet to potential adopters. Volunteer

We have an ongoing need for volunteer drivers, for vet visits, adoption clinics, transfers to foster homes, and pick ups. Volunteers are needed to help with adoption clinics, fundraisers, collecting donation jars and distributing posters. And more!
